hot air balloon experience.

See the wild awake from the sky.

Rise with the sun

  • Dawn Departure: Lift off as the first light spills across the savannah.

  • Silent Flight: Glide gently above the plains, no engine noise, only the wind.

  • Aerial Encounters: Herds of elephants, giraffes, and wildebeest moving far below.

  • Expert Pilots: Skilled balloonists who read the skies and know the land.

  • Champagne Breakfast: Land in the middle of the bush to a long table laid with a glorious breakfast and chilled champagne.

A hot air balloon safari is not just a ride, it is a new way of seeing Africa. From above, the landscape opens like a map, dotted with animals and threaded with rivers. The scale is breathtaking, the silence unforgettable.

How many Flights?

One flight is all you need, and it will stay with you for life.

When to go:

Balloon safaris operate year-round, but they are most magical in the dry season. This usually runs from June to October in East and Southern Africa. During these months, the skies are clear, the air is crisp, and animals gather around water sources, making sightings from above even more dramatic.

Early mornings are essential, when the air is cool and calm, and the first light sets the landscape glowing beneath you.

Our recommended pairings:

Pair your balloon safari with a day of game drives to see the same animals from ground level, or with a walking safari for contrast. It also combines beautifully with fly-in safaris, giving you the grand aerial view before or after exploring on foot or by vehicle.
